Two of Canada’s largest IT staffing firms merge. Si Systems ULC acquired Eagle Professional Resources as part of a deal struck on New Years Eve.

Both companies were on the SIA’s recently released list of Canada’s top recruiting firms.

Eagle is headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, and has approximately 100 employees in 10 offices across Canada. It was founded in 1996 by Janis Grantham, Kevin Dee and Jonah Laist.

“Our organizations are very complementary and share common values, culture and performance,” said Derek Bullen, CEO of Si Systems.

Bullen noted that he had known the founders of Eagle for over 20 years and they worked together to share ideas and advice.

“Our vision statements as to where we want to be in the future were almost identical, and we both believed that by combining our teams would bring us faster to our mutual future state,” said Bullen. “Canada is still a very fragmented and underrated market, and we believe there is still a lot to do here together. “

All Eagle staff and consultants will join Si Systems.

“By joining Si Systems, we are creating a Canadian central to IT staffing and an exciting next chapter for the Eagle team,” said Grantham. “The new combined entity offers more opportunities to our contractors and better access to on-demand talent for our clients. “

Grantham appeared on the 2021 Global Power 150 List of women in the workforce.

Bullen said Eagle’s own business lines will remain under the Eagle brand in the future while others will be under the Si Systems brand.
